Built LikeThe tale of the tape

About Built Like

Built Like is a bit of fun: enter your size and see which athletes and famous people are closest to it.

How matching works

We compare your height and weight with each athlete's listed figures. A well-known name can win over a slightly closer match, so your top result isn't always the mathematically nearest person. If you skip weight, we match on height alone.

Famous people who aren't athletes are matched on height only, because their weights aren't reliably recorded.

"Your twin in every sport" shows the closest match in each sport we have enough athletes for, and leaves out a sport when nobody there is close to your size. The US president ranking uses heights from Wikipedia's sourced list.

"You vs the average pro" compares you with each league's average, worked out from the current team rosters listed on ESPN. Typical means the middle half of that league's players. Listed sizes can be out of date, and Built Like isn't affiliated with ESPN or any league.

Not health advice

Size says nothing about health or ability, and an athlete's weight reflects their sport and a moment in their career. Nothing here is a goal to aim for.

Your privacy

Your height and weight are worked out in your own browser. They aren't saved, sent to us, or added to the address bar, and the share image shows heights only. We never ask for a photo.

We use GoatCounter to count visits, matches and shares. It uses no tracking cookies, and it never receives your height or weight.

Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google can see that your device requested them, including your IP address.

Where the data comes from

Figures come from Wikidata, a free public database, and we review and correct them by hand where we can. They can still be wrong or out of date. Every profile links to its source, and you can correct an entry on Wikidata directly.

Some people are left out on purpose, such as those known for serious crimes. Under-18s are not included.
